Tea Part II

Pu-er tea is produced by a most unusual process. Green tea leaves are stacked in a heap and left slightly moist so that they can undergo a similar bacterial reaction that you would see and occurs in a compost heap. Yikes! Right? The "fermented leaves are sometimes aged for as long as fifty years. The resulting FLAVA is earthy, and mold like. Anyone up for some moldy tasting tea, it's an acquired taste for real, maybe even of the highest standards. It is classified by collectors as a wine vintages, and people are willing to pay outrageous prices per cake of compacted tea, I'm talking ranging in the thousands. Such is its popularity that certain people claim to have this tea as a passion, claiming they are connoisseurs and speculators. The sizes of the cakes ranges from as small as 100 grams to as large as 5 kg.  Absolutely, this is a hobby that requires you to put some focus into it. So if you are considering collecting pu-er tea recently, I suggest you try something less. <3
